In 1963 two modified versions of the Aston DB4GT were raced by the factory team with the designation DP214. The two cars were entered in a number of races that year. In 1964 both were sold and passed into private ownership.
One of the cars was scrapped after a fatal accident during practice at Nurburgring and this is the last remaining car #218 as driven by Colin Crabbe in the Clubmens Championship race held at Silverstone in October 1966.
